GENERAL SALES TAX

Sales Tax Calculator Pakistan 2026 (GST 18%)

Add GST to a price or take it out of a tax-inclusive price. Uses the standard 18% rate with options for zero-rated and custom rates.

How sales tax works in Pakistan

The General Sales Tax (GST) is a consumption tax collected at each stage of supply. The standard federal rate on goods is 18%. Registered businesses charge GST on sales and deduct the GST they paid on purchases (input tax), paying only the difference to FBR. Exports are generally zero-rated. Services are taxed by the provinces through their own revenue authorities (PRA, SRB, KPRA and BRA), at their own rates.

Formulas used

  • Add GST: Price × (1 + rate)
  • Remove GST: Price ÷ (1 + rate)

Example: Rs 100,000 + 18% GST = Rs 118,000. Rs 118,000 including GST contains Rs 18,000 of tax.

Where else you pay sales tax

GST also appears on electricity bills, fuel prices and mobile top-ups. Our calculators for those show the tax inside the price.

How to use this sales tax calculator

Enter the amount, choose whether it excludes or includes GST, and select the rate. The sales tax calculator for Pakistan returns the price before tax, the GST amount and the total.

  • Use the add option when you are pricing a product or invoice.
  • Use the remove option when you have a receipt total and want to see the tax inside it.
  • Pick custom rate for reduced-rate goods or provincial service taxes.

Registered businesses can adjust input tax against output tax, so the GST on their purchases is not a final cost. Consumers cannot claim it back.
