Taxes in LPG: GST and Petroleum Levy
Two government charges are built into the LPG price. The first is 18% GST, which is charged on the producer price and again on the distribution margins. Because it is built in, about 15.3% of the final price is GST. The second is a petroleum levy, a fixed rupee amount per tonne, currently about Rs. 4.67 per kg.
